Get the Goods

The 2.5i Base model keeps costs low, but the Premium trim ups the ante with a massive list of standard features: rear privacy glass, heated seats, heated mirrors, wiper defroster glass, dual-zone climate control, a tablet-like touchscreen display, and more. Limited and Touring models offer a luxury-like experience with leather upholstery trim, heated rear seats, power liftgate functions, and a power moonroof. Fold the rear seats flat and get up to 73.3 cubic feet of cargo space.

Long-Back Looks Good

The legendary good looks of the Subaru Outback stick around for 2019, adding poise and panache to the classic long back of a wagon. While it has sneakily slid closer to SUV styling over the years, the Outback is still undeniably an ultra-capable all-wheel-drive wagon. Standard roof rails and integrated crossbars, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and big wheels leave no doubt that this model was made to take you anywhere you want to go.

Two BOXER Engine Options

The 2019 Subaru Outback can be equipped with one of two engine options: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (175 horsepower) or a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine (256 horsepower). Both are paired to Subaru's Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) for impressive efficiency--the former engine sees up to 32 mpg on the highway average, with the latter still rated at up to 27 mpg average on the highway. Of course, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive comes standard on the entire lineup.

Technology and Safety Features

Some big news for the 2019 model is the all-new inclusion of standard Subaru EyeSight Safety and Driver-Assistance features: adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and sway warning, pre-collision braking, and pre-collision throttle management. Add EyeSight package options for more, like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. A rearview camera comes standard, along with dual USB ports in the front, a touchscreen display, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
