The 2019 Subaru Impreza Sedan and Hatchback Are Top Hoover Compact Cars

Finding a great compact car in Hoover is both easy and difficult--easy, because there a lot to choose from; difficult, because there are a lot to choose from. But, if you stick with the versatile lineup of new 2019 Subaru Impreza cars, you really can't go wrong. Since it was fully updated on a new platform just a year or so ago, there aren't a lot of changes for this model-year. For 2019, trim levels include the Impreza 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport, and the 2.0i Limited--and all trim levels are available in both sedan and hatchback configurations.

Spacious Cabin Comforts

Choose the 2019 Impreza 2.0i Premium above for the option of a smart, sound-reducing windshield that provides an even more relaxing experience inside the cabin. The same trim offers Subaru's legendary All-Weather Package, that includes heated front seats and heated wiper blades, while the Sport and Limited trims up the ante with leather upholstery and handsome interior accents, and trim-specific interior details. Sedan configurations offer 12.3 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, while hatchback models give up a whopping 52.4 cubic feet of space.

Stylish and Sensible

The 2019 Impreza 2.0i Sport stands apart in this lineup, with 18-inch alloy wheels, a trunk lid spoiler, and rocker spoilers that color-match the body. While the rest are visually similar, you will get the benefits of standard roof rails and alloy wheels on all Impreza trim levels, with the option of a power sunroof on Premium models and above.

No Turbo Engine--Yet

The 2019 Impreza comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired to Subaru's CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) on most models--though a manual option is standard on the 2.0i Base and the 2.0i Sport. Total power output is a practical 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, but the new Impreza can see up to 28 mpg city 38 mpg highway, even with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive equipped on every model.

STARLINK and EyeSight Technology

Subaru's STARLINK infotainment system comes standard on every trim level in the Impreza lineup, including a responsive 6.5-inch touchscreen display--no cheap small display screen for this entry-level compact car--or an available 8-inch touchscreen. Subaru EyeSight packages--with features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and lane departure warning and mitigation--are now available even on the base Impreza 2.0i sedan and hatchback. Upgrades like reverse automatic braking and automatic high beams are available on additional EyeSight package options, and come standard on the range-topping Impreza 2.0i Limited.
